Neville set to miss out
Manchester United defender Gary Neville was the only member of the squad to miss training ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Dynamo Kyiv at Old Trafford.
The England international has struggled with injuries for most of the year and has not played a first-team game since the Premier League win against Bolton Wanderers in March.
The 32-year-old did feature in last week’s Manchester Senior Cup victory against Stockport County but is unlikely to feature against the Ukrainian side.
Long term-injury victims Mikael Silvestre, Paul Scholes, Park Ji-sung and Ben Foster continue to be sidelined, but Owen Hargreaves is expected to make his Champions League debut for the club.
Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs is hoping United can bounce back from the disappointment of conceding a last-gasp equaliser against Arsenal on Saturday by beating Kyiv.
United won 4-2 in Ukraine two weeks ago, and Giggs told the Manchester Evening News: “You leave Arsenal disappointed because of the manner in which they got the draw.
“But when the dust settles you take the positives out of the game and there were some really good performances. The quality of our goals and our play at times was brilliant.
“It wasn’t a bad result. It was hard to take at the end but we’ll get ready for Kyiv and we’ll go into that game confident after our performance at Arsenal.”
